CustomEHR Acknowledgments

I'd like to use this page to publicly thank the people and organizations who have contributed to CustomEHR.

I have already received a number of gracious offers for assistance with development of specialty modules and clinical decision support, and it is certainly my intention to give credit and recognition as we go forward.

The initial development of CustomEHR occurred while I was in full time clinical practice with Renal Medicine Associates, Ltd, based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The physicians and staff of this very busy multi-site nephrology practice, and the great dialysis nurses employed by Fresenius Medical Care of North America with whom we worked on a daily basis, provided frequent feedback and numerous suggestions for improvements as we all gained real world experience with using an ever expanding array of new tools. Their great enthusiasm for using the site always provided encouragement for my continued efforts at adding new featues and refinements while continuing a full-time clinical practice. And their patience was unfailing whenever the inevitable bug showed up. Their assistance in facilitating my transition out of practice and allowing me to devote all my energies to CustomEHR has made all this possible. Much of the excellence of CustomEHR's inpatient and nephrology modules is due in no small measure to the real world experience of all of these folks in using the site, and I give them my sincere thanks.

Many thanks to New Mexico Oncology Hematology Consultants in Albuquerque for their early adoption and beta testing of the Call, Location and Vacation Schedule module. They provided numerous suggestions for additional features and tweaks which have greatly improved this module.

Thanks to Steve Chen, MD for encouraging me to add ACGME parameters to the Call, Location and Vacation Schedule module. This has been done and with this addition, this module becomes highly attractive for residency and fellowship programs.

Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City, New Mexico, in March, 2007 became the first hospital system to use the hospital version of the Call, Location and Vacation Schedule module, establishing what we hope will be a new model for hospitals and communities: GRMC is making the module available for use by all of the physician groups on the medical staff at no cost to the physician practices. The hospital benefits by being able to directly link to call and vacation data entered by physician practices, and physician groups benefit by not only having access to this very useful tool for management of physician schedules at no charge, but also by not having to keep the hospital informed of any changes in their call schedules. So, we'd like to officially thank GRMC for being the first hospital to take this step and for their faith in CustomEHR.
